Road Closings Winter 2011-2012 Balsam Mountain and Heintooga Roads closed November 1. Roundbottom and Straight Fork Roads will close November 15. Parson Branch and Rich Mountain Roads will close November 21. Clingmans Dome Road will close December 1. These roads will remain closed through the winter. Little River Road and Newfound Gap Road remain open throughout the winter, except for temporary weather-related closures. Additionally, the Gatlinburg bypass, Cades Cove Loop Road, Upper Tremont Road, Forge Creek, Lakeview Drive, and Foothills Parkway (east and west) will open and close depending on the weather.
