Trail
closings – Spring 2013 Chimney Tops trail has been closed since January
2013, when high waters destroyed the pedestrian bridge
across Walker Camp Prong at the beginning of the trail. It will continue to be closed while the
70-foot bridge is rebuilt until June 30, 2013. At that time, it will reopen
on weekends, but be closed Monday-Thursday from July 1 – October 17 for
further trail maintenance. Noland Divide trail has been closed
due to a rock slide that requires repairs. It will be closed April 22 – May 2
from the trailhead on Lakeshore Drive to Campsite 64. Campsite 65 will be
closed during this time, but Campsite 64, which can be accessed from the north
will remain open. |
